Isuzu D Max
great tyre
had a set of these Geolanders fited to my Isuzu D max at 60000kms and the difference to the original tyres was amazing!! Handle all conditions, wet and dry. No problems at all in wet conditions, corner well and little road noise. I drove performance cars all my working life (NSW Police HWP) and these are some of the best tyres that I have ever driven on. Definately be fitting these next time around.

2006 Chevrolet sliverado 2500hd 4x4
possibly the worst tires you can buy.. and half these site wont accept a bad review
never submitted a review.. but I will this time.. oh, and nothing mechanical is/was wrong with the vehicle.. as an experienced driver licensed to operated many different vehicles, owned trucks for many years, including this one - these have to be the worst, or second worst (mastercraft for 2 days and ripped them off) tires ever.. I wouldn t give you 50.00 each brand new.. from the start, one will notice that they are very hard , transmitting just about every imperfection in the road surface.. sluggish handling thru cornering - presenting a rougher ride.. in the rain, they will break away from the surface easily - I know it s a heavier vehicle, but 35 on an exit and one can feel the beginning of 4 wheel slide.. not what one should expect for any realistic money spent - maybe on used bald tires, but not new and praised tires.. and keep this in mind - for the first few weeks, until worn in, they exhibit left-to-right wandering down the road - kind of like a boat at 50+ - a constant correcting to stay in the lane.. after approx. a month it settled in.. NOW - for snow - in 1/2 of coverage - these tires suck bad.. heavy slipping under easy acceleration, the front end simply slipped thru the corners - continuing straight until it caught - at 10-15 mph.. and FORGET ABOUT STOPPING - at 20mph approaching a stop sign it took over 100-120ft before it slowed to 5mph - right thru and luckily the approaching vehicle had better equipment.. cautiously I managed thru that day - not what I would expect for roughly 1000k.. onto the next 3 storms - 3 and 8 and 11 .. the same results, and the deeper the snow, the less mobile you will be.. I have consistently used goodyear sra s on this truck (and previous trucks + wrangler at s) - 3 sets prior, with zero issues.. DON T BUY THESE - THERE ARE FAR BETTER ALTERNATIVES

Ford Territory RWD Diesel
Terrible lifespan
Fitted to a rwd territory after getting 55,000 kms on the OE tyres, we were told to expect at least 60,000+ kms from the yokohama but will struggle to get 30,000 kms. Great tyre for grip, braking and noise. Because the tyre dealer recommended the yokohamas we are getting a partial claim on our next set of tyres which will be the original goodyear fortera.

Ford teritory diesel awd
Very bad tyre for a premium price
I changed our new teritory diesel from the factory fitted goodyears to the yokohama s at the advice of the tyre tyre dealer (bob jane). This was the worst thing i have ever done as it has destroyed the vehical. The They are noisey on all surfaces, they have nearly worn out already and have only done 26 000km compaired to 59 000km on the original set. The wet road handling is very scarey, we live in north qld and as we all know it rains here,i carnt beleave the dealer suggested these tyres. The car feels very unsafe and skitish on wet road. Would never purchase a yoko again as the tyre company when i spoke to them about this i was told i should have purchased the origninal tyres then.

2009 Nissan Xtrail TS Diesel T31
Much better than Manufacturer fitted tyre got over 80K km from set! Nissan XTrail T31
These tyres have been nothing short of amazing! After getting about 40K km out of a set of Dunlops factory fitted to out diesel T31 Xtrail we fitted these tyres. I have since sold the car but had done over 80,000km on the tyres and I guess that it has another 10,000 km left on the tyres! The tyres handled better and had less noise than the OEM Dunlops. I m sure that the tyres would perform differently on other cars but these are a great choice for a XTrail.

Tyre story
Before I purchased new tyres for my Hilux 4x4 I checked all the reviews on this site and found Maxis had the best overall product satisfaction for the price. Happy with them so far, but time will tell.

Garbage in the rain.
I have had these tires on my 2005 Ford F-150 for roughly a year. With the wet conditions in a North Carolina winter I was very disappointed to notice they suck. I don t have but 15k miles on them but they spin when the roads are wet. They perform quite like a tire that has 65k-70k miles on it should in the rain.

Excellent
Fitted to our CVX Kluger after factory tyres wore out at 34k. Very happy with the choice - performed well on the highway and around town and solid in the wet. Just fitted new model G055 ( SUV s ) at 100k. 65,000km not a bad return - probably had another 3-5k left but rubber was starting to go hard.Even wear across all tyres with only minimal care. Much different tread pattern on new SUV tyres but hopefully same or better performance.

Only average
Replaced the original Bridgestone 684 Duellers on the VRX Outlander at 60,000k, they handled very well & delivered good steering response, however were very noisy on coarse bitumen & the ride was very firm, the Yoko s are much quieter, ride better but here s the compromise - steering response & feel is vague and tottally lacks the confidence that the Bridgies delivered, life is all about compromise but sometimes you should stick with what you know - will not but Yoko s again

Way too noisy
Just bought a xtrail with these tyres running at about 50% tread and they are VERY noisy and the steering feels vauge too.Wont be replacing these with the same again.Don t know what they are like new though but i dont think you get your monies worth if they go like this after only 50% wear

Terrible
These were a premium tyre and prevously have had nothing but good experience with Yoko. I note mine were made in Philippines and this could be a quality issue.

Toyota 100 series Landcruiser GXL Turbo deisel
Do not waste your money on this tyre
I have a 2006 100 series Landcruiser turbo diesel. Hankooks were on it when I purchased it and they were changed after lasting for just over 70,000klm. Bought 5 Yokohama Geolander HT-S G051 for $1,675.00 had them rotated using all 5 tyres at 10,000k intervals, maintained tyre pressure at 38psi as per tyre warranty conditions and at 28,300klm they are down to the wear bars and needed to be replaced. Shoulder wear from incorrect wheel alignment is not an issue as tyres have worn evenly across the tread. As described in other posts the centre of the tread is the most worn. I have no issues with the road holding and noise levels of these tyres, its the $1,750 (includes tyre rotation costs) I have wasted on supposedly premium tyres that have no hope of ever making it to 29,000klm that I am bitterly disappointed about. After 33 years running a transport business where tyres are an important and costly item these are the worst tyres for wear I have ever experienced. Even our very reputable tyre retailer is surprised at the wear rate and has promised to get Yokohama rep involved. We all know where that will end up. Maybe these tyres last longer on lighter vehicles but learn from my costly mistake. If you have a 100 series cruiser find some other tyre that will give a you decent wear rate. Do not waste your money on these Yokohamas

Good
Excellent tyre. Fitted to an Xtrail. Great performance on-road and off-road. I ve had no issues with wet weather or cornering grip (after wettest summer on record and 3000km road trip). Good Rim protection also.

Excellent
Have done just over 50,000 on Geolander H/T-S GO51 (275/70 R16) on my landcruiser. Wear is even, but I do maintain pressure at 42 to 45 PSI. My mechainic keeps telling that I will waste my money if I had a wheel alignment as the wear is just so even. I could not be happier and I think I still have 40,000Klm left in them.

Bad
Subaru Outback. Replaced old Dunlop SP Sport 200E road tyres from previous owner. The Yokohamas are as good on bitumen as the Dunlops in the dry, better on dirt, but can be scary cornering in the wet - very skittish. 215/60R16. A friend reckons Yokohama C-drive is good on Outback (pointy quick-response tyre), including on dirt & in the wet. Another is happy with Pirelli P6. Just as well it doesn t rain much in Melbourne anymore. Seriously, don t believe Yokohama s claims of superb wet traction .
