A friend had bought these for his VY Commodore ute (we don t carry big loads in our ute) and I was surprised about driving on them while my car was in the panel beaters. They gripped and were great in the winter rains on roads where I would usually aquaplane in my car. Went and got some fitted to my Falcon 2 years ago now and 48,700km (only 2 tyre rotations during this period) later they still look brand new and have hardly lost a scrap of tread. Maybe its because they are made in Japan or maybe Bridgestone have designed a superior product at an affordable price, Im not to sure, but I am convinced I could get another 30,000km out of these tyres. Very happy!Read more

I never felt like I was going to have a loss of grip.I put about 25000km on these before my car was written off - they didn't appear to have worn excessively.Read more

Strange name but he convinced me that they were equivalent to the Turanzas for general driving and they were the new low resistance (??) tyre. For an all up cost incl alignment of less than $600 for 215x55x17H it was a done deal. Have only had them for a month but no complaints whatsoever. Quiet (but then new tyres usually are) and I got my first surprise at the first corner - lifting off at the usual point I found that I had to brake harder as the car kept rolling - and it kept happening at every corner - so they do have lower rolling resistance. On my first trip I noticed the instantaneous fuel readout was dropping from 7's to 6.7 ltr/100km for a 6cyl Aurion at 100 kph so it seems to be true. Ride is softer also. Only giving 4 stars at the moment because I am dubious about long term wear - the Turanzas did 51kRead more

I had to fight tooth and nail to have them take responsibility for the fault and provide a replacement though sure enough a few months later the same tyre location had a complete failure. I have since replaced the spare with another ecopia to keep the continuity. I'm not convinced at this point that the tyres are durable as I was expecting to get at least 50k or more out of them but I've already replaced two. As these are low rolling resistance tyres they are supposed to be best suited for my hybrid and I've seen no loss of performance compared to the michelin they replaced.Read moreSimilar opinion? They are great tyres especially when driving through puddles as the water dispurses out to the sides. Car feels solid on the road and so I feel safe when driving in slippery road conditions. Braking is good with these solid tread. As the name suggests.. ECOpia, they are supposed to provide better fuel consumption and tyres last longer. The tyres aren't overly expensive either. Currently driven 40,000 km and expect to easily get another 20-30 thousand more. Tyres are still quiet and handle well in dry and wet. Not as quiet as Goodyear Excellence, but better grip. There appears to be more tyre roll while heavy cornering rounding off the edges more than on Toyo Teo, NCT5 or Excellence, but higher tyre pressure fixed this. Tyre does look narrower on the rim than original. Good balance, currently no need to rebalance after 40,000 kmRead more

Have done 73,000 km since and likely have 10,000 km of legal tread left. Fuel economy improved immediately they were fitted, but I put this down simply to the fact they were new tyres with full tread. Economy is waning again now, so will likely replace them again at 80,000 km.Total cost of purchase, fitting and four sets of balance and wheel alignment over the time has been $780. To divide that sum by 80,000 km (assuming we achieve that mark without requiring further service) will work out at a shade under 1 cent per km ..... Pretty good value in today's market.Having said that I must add that these tyres have not matched the performance of the original ones which were on the vehicle when we purchased it new in 2004. They were also Bridgestone, B391's, made in Japan. We replaced two at 98,000 and two at an extraordinary 118,000 km, although I should really have done so a tad earlier! Unfortunately Bridgestone no longer make this tyre ......... I wonder why? We've had no ride or comfort issues with the Ecopia's, not even a puncture and we've driven on many tyre punishing roads. I keep them inflated to 36 psi to counter for some road conditions. It may have prevented a blowout or two in potholes on some challenging roads, or we may have just been lucky.Terry (Perth)Read more

The best part is that they've actually lived up to their claim to improve fuel economy. Well this comment alone firstly shows this lady has no road sense and a lunatic. Why you would need to slam the brakes in kid zone is outright ridiculous. Shouldn't you be doing 40. How in the world would you need to slam on the brakes when you should be doing a safe speed where a slight pressure of the brake wouldn't stop you. They introduced speed limiters in cars for idiots like yourself. An all purpose tyre is exactly that and if you feel the need for a high speed rated tyre please stay away from any suburban streets. You may have been quite caring when you made your comments, and I apologise if this offends you, but I need to give you my take on it just like you did. By the way, I really enjoyed the first ride home on my Bridgestone Ecopia EP100.Read more

I also have an xf ute with Ghia mags and 205/65/15 tyres. So I have been through 8 different types of tyres in this size. I have had goodyear, dunlop, older bridgestone, maxxi map 1, yokohama a.Drive, hyfly hf201, hankook k406 and now these eco 100. So far overall these are better than all the rest imo. My ute still has Yokohama a.Drive. The last set of tyres I had on my wagon where the hankook k406. I loved these tyres and also had them on my ute. They where very quite with great wet/dry grip. The hankook are great tyres but are a decade older in technology then the eco 100. The difference between the two are that the eco 100 have slightly better to very little difference in wet/dry grip performance. The eco 100 are a more quite tyre, and there rolling ability is outstanding; which leads to better fuel economy. I will buy these for my ute when buy 3 get 4 is available again as I did for my wagon. $315 balanced and fitted. Great for tyres made in Japan and not China. I do not have the soft side wall issue that some people have said but the opposite. These tyres feel very firm and steer like a billy cart on rails. I am in my 50s and drive at the speed limit plus I also run 44psi in these tyres. They do have a more thump noise when you hit rough Melbourne roads, but I think because they are so quite this type of noise is more noticeable. They are also 10mm narrower in the tread than the hankooks and only time will tell how long they lasts. I got 65000km with the hankook k406. I have had to changed the way I drive as the car coasts for alot longer and faster now. But the best comment I got was from my 19-year-old son who said; Dad did you put a new motor in the car, this thing flies now!Read more

Very minimal road noise on most surfaces, plenty of grip & with the usual rotations & alignments they wear quite well. However, they bring out their soft design if you push them into the corners. They begin to feel vague & squirmy no matter what pressure is in them. Having said that, they don't break traction in wet or dry conditions & it's also important to note that these are touring tyres for town & open road driving, not high performance. And yes they do roll well, and I feel more of a cruising feeling rather than accelerating continuously. The have much better grip than my balding tyres I replaced. There is no "squishy" feeling to them that I've noticed.Let me say the fuel economy is incredible. The savings on fuel will pay for the set in no time. I was averaging (pushing it really) 520-550kms per tank. I fueled up on my way to replace the tyres and completed around 55kms on the old ones and have just fueled up tonight. I did 625kms.I rang around for prices everywhere and came up with the cheapest price at a Bridgestone tyre shop (4 for price of 3 deal)and remembered from my quote from Kmart tyre and auto they would price match. I just happened to be going past Costco and didn't know which brands the sold. I was quite happy to tell them they were to expensive even with a $70 off deal. I asked if they priced matched which they do. To my pleasure though they beat the competitors price by $30 and they fitted them immediately. Go Costco. I will be going back for sureRead more

I was a little skeptical about the claims of fuel economy improvements but I was stunned to find my average distance on a tank improved from about 430 to about 500kms. As others have said - most impressed how quite on many road surfaces, Noticeable lower resistance by speedo - not just feel, so this is true. Fuel consumption went to 620 on the first tank. The following 3 tanks were 650, 680 & then 715km, which I found pretty incredible to say the least!I'm averaging around spot on 700km per tank, give or take 20km. My usual tank is probably 75% highway, 25% short town driving (to & from work).I was tossing up between these and a set of Bridgestone RE002's, a much sportier tyre. I chose these as after some careful critical self evaluation I decided that I was not a boy racer, and the Audi is just used used as a cruiser. For me they were the same price, but these promised better fuel economy (which they have definitely provided) and a more comfortable tyre.I read some reviews of the tyre feeling very 'squishy' through the corner, or having a weird feel until you become used to it. For me this was never the case. The tyre has perfomed faultlessly from start to finish, very quiet on the road, great grip in all conditions, overall I'm very stoked with it.As I have said, I'm far from a boy racer. If you're looking (like me) for a high end brand name tyre that is going to perform superbly & be extroadinarily comfortable on the road then you're not going to go far wrong with this tyre.Read more

No slipping or anything concerning yet. - Smooth ride - Reasonably quiet - Barely any wear - Slightly better fuel consumption (I do understand by going to the slightly larger tyre that fuel consumption wouldn t be as good as if I stuck to the original size, I wanted more grip) Cons:- Sidewall feels slightly weak - Noticeable difference in steering through corners - I now understand what other reviews mean by the squishy feel as such, however, I have found that this only occurs if you are going faster than you probably should be through the corners. Adding a little extra psi also helps counteract this feeling. - They like to stay in a groove (eg. roads joining seam) - Some aquaplaning The originals that came on the car were Yokohama A460 s, they were probably slightly smoother in ride but were very loud and slide around a little more than comfort. The Ecopia s are perfect for everyday driving and perform best at around 38psi.Read more

Cost $520 including wheel allignment. Tyre size 195/65 R15. I drove out and immediately noticed how quiet they were over the suicide Kinforest Chinese tyres they were replacing. Then I took my first corner....the roll of these tyres seems excessive as the shoulder seems to flatten out rather than prop up the tyre. I stopped into the service station to check the tyre pressure and it was at 32psi as recommended by Mazda. I'll be doing a lot of highway driving so it'll be interesting to see how they go. Braking distances seem good as I purposely found out, yet to experience the wet handling. The U.S reviews online don't give favourable review on these. I wish I could swap back to the Dunlop's.Read more

So it probably can be worth spending a few extra dollars for a LRR tyre.Read more

I needed new tyres within 12 months of the last set, needless to say I was extremely annoyed. These guys advised on a set of Ecopia's and I couldn't be happier. The ride is sensational and smooth. I was a bit of a sceptic when first told about what the Ecopia's are meant to be like. Not anymore. The service from Bridgestone Select Albany Creek is sensational with no nonsense advice and being an ex mechanic I'm very wary about getting stitched up. I'm so happy to say I've found the mechanics to do work on my cars without the feeling of being got at. The new tyres came with a care package, so the guys send me an email when they need to be rotated, wheel alignment checked and so on, just to make sure you get a good life from the tyres.

This EP100 is comfortable and queite but my wife can't tell the difference tho. Grip is good too. Fuel saving is amazing. With Potenza I used to get 4.0-4.5l /100km but I now get 3.7- 4.2 l/ 100km ( always Aircon on and with passenger). I set tire pressure 35 psi and I know that if I turn off air con and increase pressure upto 37 I would get 3.5 easy. In Japan, OEM tire size for Prius C is 14 inch not 15 Inch, no wonder people get early 3l/100 km mark in Japan with more later version 14 inch EP series.Read more

I've had 4 sets of gorgeous Pirellis without complaint but finances forced me into a slightly cheaper budget this year, biggest mistake ever! These terms perform reasonably at lower speeds. Slam on the brakes in an emergency and they will stop well under 40km/hour.Give it 80km/hour and hit the brakes hard and the tyres completely let go once the forces exceed their ability to grip the road surface. This literally is the difference between stopping in time and the tyres letting go and plowing straight over the top of kids crossing the road.Do yourself a favour buy a better tyre. The extra you pay will be the cheapest life insurance you'll ever have!!!I'm going back to my Pirellis!Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

Straight away I noticed when driving 100kph that I need to move the steering wheel a lot to make small corrections. Secondly I noticed the tires make a lot of noise when turning especially around a roundabout. I don't mean a squealing sound but like a gravel road noise sound. Finally the tread pattern seems to collect a lot of stones. This throws out the wheel balance. Not recommended for Australia conditions. Also no noticable saving in fuel as stated.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

In all, a great tyre at a reasonable price for someone who isn't a hoon.Read more

Pros are low road noise and smooth ride, good grip in dry conditions.Cons are some slipping on wet roads, particularly when cornering.Contrary to expectations, fuel consumption increased by 0.2 L/100 km on these tyres (according to car fuel monitor).
