In dry conditions braking, cornering and road noise are exceptional, wearing very evenly and grip tight to the tarmac. However in the wet, or even slightly wet conditions these tyres lack traction and do not disperse water well at all. This is especially dangerous cornering and braking, causing the vehicle to slide and lose traction. I personally drive quite steady so I m disappointed about the wear. Performance on dry is fine but in the wet is whole new beast. Gets very light footed and slips out at low speed stopping and cornering. Spoke with the old boy who is a retired owner/operator of the tyre industry for over 50 years, and confirmed Bridgestone tyres are (in his words) rubbish. He suggested Toyo (what he is currently driving), Hankook (underrated but performs well), Cooper (though a bit overpriced) & Yokohama (performs well but does have road noise) Going to give Toyo Open Country U/T a run and hope for better performance as after 30000kms I m sick of the BridgestonesRead moreSimilar opinion? I find that these tyres are not only noisy on the bitumen at any speed over 60klm but more importantly absolutely deadly in the wet. Had a vehicle suddenly change lanes in front of me causing me to serve to avoid an accident it was raining at the time and the roads were fairly wet. Vehicle went into a almost uncontrolled drift as it floated across two lanes just lucky there was little traffic on the road at the time otherwise there would have been a serious accident. I consider these tyres to be dangerous especially on roundabouts in the wet. I am well aware of the problem and drive very cautiously at all times but especially in the wet. When these tyres need replacing I will definitely not replace them with the same tyres but instead hunt around for a safer tyre irrespective of cost.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

I had these tyres on my stock Triton GLX-R for a few months. I couldn t wait to upgrade to a better wheel and tyre package. Partly due to the narrower width on Triton tyre spec (245/65/17 rather than the more popular 265/65/17 on most other rivals), the grip on dry road is just adequate. You need to be careful when you approach a corner, especially in wet. Mid corner bumps can also be a worry as it is unable to retrieve grip instantly. The car may feel like it s floating other than rolling on the road. Don t tell me I should never drive fast in a one tonner. I can feel where the problem is from and I can corner a lot faster and safer on a set of good All terrains -- I don t drive too fast anyway, lots of tradies driving fully loaded $500 shxx utes overtaking me every day. As it was designed for HT you wouldn t expect too much from off road performance either. The treadwear grade on these tyres are only 300, which is not at all impressive in these kind of tyres. Most rivals come around 400-500. Although the actual wearing varies on how you drive and maintain the tyres. But still I can get a set of Kumho KL51 with 500+ treadwear grade for identical money. Yep, you guess right I did run a set of 2nd hand KL51 on my rear wheels for the last 15k. I wouldn t say the Kumho performs much better than the Dueler but I couldn t notice much wear difference on the Kumhos before and after. The good part of the Dueler is the ride and road noise, that s where the 2 stars came from. Apart from those and the price, the D840 is very ordinary. It s pointless to choose these tyres on a new car as they are not the cheapest nor better than anyone. There are better choices in the market that deserve to be put onto a new car from the factory. A Goodyear EfficientGrip is an all round superior alternative for only a fraction of more money.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!

It s been a few years since I had then but I kept the new spare tyre and old Toyo s A/T to sit my boat on it the backyard when I do trailer maintenance. They seem fine in the dry and don t produce much road noise at any speed. However in the wet they become a different tyre altogether. They don t cause the car to under or oversteer but they do cause the entire car to slip sideways. This has happened several times at speeds of under 30mph on roundabouts. I find it impossible to have faith in them when cornering in the wet. We used them off road a month or so ago in the Scottish Highlands and they were fine on rock/boulders and straight forward river crossings. They were useless in mud or on wet grass, providing no grip/traction whatsoever. We will definitely change them for a different tyre as soon as they need changing due to wear.

I had then on a Triton from new and they are slippery on a wet road and I managed to spit them on the gravel. If they were good on the highway I could understand they are no good for anything. It s been a few years since I had then but I kept the new spare tyre and old Toyo s A/T to sit my boat on it the backyard when I do trailer maintenance. The Toyos are so much heavier and the Bridgestone just collapses under the boat s weight. If I bought a new Mitsubishi I would take it straight to a tyre retailer and change them. Save your money and look for something else.Read moreSimilar opinion? Write a review!
