1 \u2013 How to Remove a Car Battery<\/h3>\n

The first step for Car Battery Replacement you will need to disconnect your battery. To do this, park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake. If it\u2019s a manual car, put it in first gear, or in park if it is automatic. Turn the key to off and remove it. Wear your protective gloves and then remove the negative terminal first before before removing the positive terminal. Once this is done, tie or hold the cables back so they are out of your way.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 Removing the Restraints<\/h3>\n

Remove the restraints of the battery or any other components that are holding it down. Then, remove the battery from the tray, making sure that you are holding it upright at all times.<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 Inspect and Clean the Terminals<\/h3>\n

Once you have removed the battery, check the cables for any corrosion or other signs of damage. Use a battery terminal and post cleaner to clean the insides of each terminal by wiping them. Then, use-corrosion terminal grease on the terminals to prevent the formation of corrosive deposits if needed.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 Install Your New Battery<\/h3>\n

Keep your new battery upright at all times and carefully place it onto the tray. Make sure that the negative and positive terminals are on the correct sides, before securing the battery and replacing the restraints.<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 Reconnect the Terminals<\/h3>\n

The final step in Car Battery Replacement is to reconnect the battery terminals. Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative. Your new battery should now be ready to go.<\/p>\n
